• Compliant — all controls in place, no action required.
• Minor Findings — low-risk gaps, action within 90 days.
• Major Findings — moderate-risk gaps, action within 30 days.
• Critical Findings — imminent risk, immediate corrective action and RIDDOR reporting if applicable.

Demographics and site details; PPE and hazard controls; chemical and biological hazards; electrical safety; fire safety and emergency egress; ergonomics and manual handling; emergency procedures; training and competence; incident reporting and near misses; and sign-off with an action plan.

Common pitfalls

• Treating the timescales as flexible guidance — the 90/30-day windows for Minor/Major findings, and immediate action for Critical findings, are meant as firm commitments once findings are recorded, not aspirational targets.
• Missing RIDDOR reporting obligations — a Critical Finding can trigger a statutory RIDDOR reporting requirement; treating it as purely an internal action item can miss a legal obligation.
